Registered address, business scope and sector controls
Your registered address is the legal home of the company and must be a real, documented premises in Fuzhou that accepts official mail and, in many cases, an on-site inspection. Options include a leased office or workshop, an incubator or industrial park unit, or a registered-address service offered by a local provider. Landlords of commercial buildings normally supply the property certificate and lease; residential addresses are usually not accepted for foreign-invested companies.
Jiangxi's development zones and industrial parks often host manufacturing and processing tenants, and some offer shared facilities and administrative support. Verify any incentive or subsidy directly with the park and the local government — do not rely on second-hand descriptions.
The business scope defines what the company may legally do, and it is written in standard Chinese categories. Draft it to cover your actual and near-term activities: trading, import and export, technical consulting, manufacturing, or whichever applies. Include the wording needed for customs and VAT invoicing if you will trade. Anything outside the permitted categories, or on the negative list for foreign investment, needs separate approval or cannot be included at all. Adding a genuinely new activity later is possible but involves a licence amendment, so spend time on the scope at the outset with someone who knows current local practice.
